Three youths fresh from a burglary head for an abandoned combined residence and storefront to lie low for a while. Late into the night, they see a letter in the mailbox. The letter is addressed to the Namiya General Store and the letter was written by someone to consult about worries and written 32 years ago. Atsuya and his friends write a reply and place their letter in the mailbox. Almost right away, another letter drops through the slot, and proves to be the woman's response to their answer. They soon realize they are corresponding with her across a gap of 33 years.
