monies agreed to be paid by a convention between his Majesty and the French King, concluded and figned at London the twenty seventh day of February, one thousand feven hundred and fixty five, for the maintenance of the late French prifoners of war; and alfo the faid fum of eighty thousand pounds remaining in the receipt of the exchequer, which was granted to his Majesty in the laft feffion of parliament, upon account, for defraying the charge of the pay and cloathing of the militia for one year, beginning the twenty fifth day of March, one thousand feven hundred and fixty four; and alfo the faid fum not exceeding twelve thousand pounds, out of the monies which thall arife of the produce of the duties laid by an act made in this feffion of parliament upon the importation and exportation of Gum Senega and Gum Arabic; and also the further fum of two million and one hundred thousand pounds by this act granted, out of fuch monies as fhall or may arise of the furpluffes, excesses, or overplus monies, and other revenues, compofing the fund commonly called The Sinking Fund, fhall be further appropriated, and together with are hereby appropriated, and thall be iffued and applied for and the refidue of towards the feveral ufes and purposes herein after expreffed, tothe money arifing by the gether with the refidue of the monies arising from the fale of fale of French French prizes taken before the declaration of war, which his prizes, Majefty has declared in a moft gracious speech to his parliament in the last feffion, that he has directed for the eafe of his fubjects, to be applied to the publick fervice.

XV. And it is hereby alfo enacted by the authority aforefaid, That out of all or any the aids or fupplies provided as aforefaid, there shall and may be iffued and applied any fum or fums of money, not exceeding one million four hundred thirty nine thousand seven hundred thirty four pounds, eleven fhillings, and three pence, for or towards the naval fervices herein after particularly expreffed (that is to fay) or or towards victuals, wages, wear and tear of the navy, and the victualling thereof, performed and to be performed; and for or towards fea fervices in the office of ordnance, performed and to be performed; and for or towards defraying the ordinary of his Majefty's navy, and for half pay to fea and marine officers; and for or towards maintaining four thousand two hundred and eighty seven marines; and for or towards the buildings, rebuildings, and repairs, of his Majesty's fhips, for the year one thousand feven hundred and fixty five.

XVI.
