Fire faster.-Execute rapidly the signal Commence firing. For machine guns, a change to the next higher rate of fire is required. 22. Fire slower.-Execute slowly the signal Commence firing. For machine guns, a change to the next lower rate of fire is required. 23. New target.-Extend the arm and hand to the front, palm of the hand to the right (left); swing them to the right (left) to point in the direction of the new target. 24. Suspend firing.-Raise the forearm to a horizontal position in front of the forehead, palm of the hand to the front; hold the forearm steady until the signal is understood. 25. Cease firing.-Raise the forearm as in Suspend firing and swing it up and down several times in front of the face. 26. Section.-Extend the arm and hand toward the section leader, palm of the hand down, and describe large vertical circles with them. 27. Squad.-Extend the arm and hand toward the section leader, palm of the hand down; distinctly move the hand up and down several times from the wrist, holding the arm steady. ARE YOU READY? Out of action.-Strike the closed fist of one hand rapidly against the open palm of the other several times. |
