Stevenson, Francis T. P. Plimpton, Charles W. Yost, Philip M. Klutznick, and Jonathan B. Bingham, to be U.S. Representatives to the United Nations; C. Allan Stewart to be Ambassador to Venezuela; and John M. Steeves, to be Ambassador to Afghanistan. The nomination of Vice Admiral Edward Nelson Parker, to be Assistant Director, U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, was put over until he could appear before the committee, at the request of Senator Symington.
