VIII. And whereas the duties and revenues contained in the faid alts of the fourth, fifth and fixth years of her faid late Majefty's reign, whereupon the faid furplus or overplus monies are, from time to time, to arife for the ufes and purposes in this a&t intended, are temporary,

being granted only for fuch terms of years as are before-mentioned: now for the better eftablishing a fure and lafling fund to answer all the faid ufes and purposes hereby intended, fubject nevertheless to fuch redemption as is hereby preferibed: be it further enacted by the authority aforefaid, That fuch or the like additional fubfidy of tonnage and poundage, and other duties commonly called the one The one third third fubfidy, which by the faid act of the fourth year of her faid fubfidy 4 Ann. late Majefty's reign, was granted or continued for the term of ninety-eight years, from the eighth day of March one thoufand feven hundred and fix, and by the faid act of the fifth year of her faid late Majefty's reign, was continued for one year, to take effect after the expiration of the faid term of ninety-eight 6 Ann. c. 5. years, and by the faid act of the fixth year of her late Majesty's reign was further continued for one year, to take effect after the expiration of the faid term of one year laft before-mentioned, fhall after the expiration of the faid feveral terms fo granted therein, have further continuance, and be paid and payable to his Majefty, his heirs and fucceffors for ever: and that fuch or the like rates and duties of excife, which by the faid act of the fourth year of her late Majefty's reign were granted for the term of ninety five years, commencing from the feventeenth day of May one thousand feven hundred and thirteen, fhall after the expiration of the faid term of ninety-five years granted therein, have continuance, and be alfo paid and payable to his Majefty, his heirs and fucceffors for ever: and that fuch and the Duties on low like duties upon low wines, or fpirits of the firft extraction, as by the faid act of the fifth year of her late Majefty's reign were 5 Ann. c. 19. granted and continued for the term of ninety-fix years, from the 1 Geo. 2. c.16. three and twentieth day of June one thoufand feyen hundred and ten, and by the faid act of the fixth year of her late Majefty's reign were continued for one year, to take effect after the expiration of the term of ninety-fix years laft mentioned, fhall after the expiration of the faid feveral terms for granted therein, have further continuance, and be likewife paid and payable to his Majefty, his heirs and fucceffors for ever: and that all and every fuch and the like duties and sums of money pedlars, 5Ann. to be paid by every hawker, pedlar, petty chapman, and others defcribed in a former act of parliament for licenfing hawkers and 9 & io W. 3. pedlars, and all the powers for granting fuch licences, which by the faid act of the fifth year of her late Majefty's reign were granted for the term of ninety-fix years, from the three and twentieth day of June one thousand feven hundred and ten, and by the faid act of the fixth year of her late Majefty's reign were continued for one year, to take effect after the expiration of the term of ninety-fix years laft mentioned, fhall after the expiration of the said several terms fo granted therein, have further continuance, and be alfo paid and payable to his Majefty, his heirs and fucceffors for ever: and that fuch of the duties upon vellum, parchment and paper, as by the faid act of the fifth year of her late Majefty's reign were continued for the term of ninety-fix

IX. XI. And be it enacted by the authority aforefaid, That all the monies to arife by the faid fubfidies, rates and duties by this act made perpetual, as aforefaid, when and as the fame refpectively (after the expiration of the refpective terms formerly granted as aforefaid) fhall take effect, by virtue of this prefent act (the neceffary charges of raifing the fame excepted) fhall likewise, from time to time, be brought into the faid receipt of Exchequer, for the ufes and purposes in this act expreffed; neverthelefs the faid duties and revenues hereby made perpetual, and the application thereof to the uses and purposes by this act intended, fhall be subject and liable to fuch redemption as is herein after prescribed in that behalf.

XII. And whereas by an act of parliament made in the fifth year of the reign of their faid late majefties King William and Queen Mary, intituled, An act for granting to their Majesties feveral rates and duties upon tonnage of fhips and veffels, and upon beer, ale, and other liquors, for fecuring certain recompences and advantages in the faid act mentioned, to fuch perfons as fhall voluntarily advance the fum of fifteen hundred thousand pounds towards carrying on the war against France, certain other rates and duties of excife were granted to their Majesties, their heirs and fucceffors for ever, and the monies arifing thereupon as thereby directed to be divided into five feventh parts, and two feventh parts, and by virtue of that and other acts in that behalf, the faid five feventh parts are liable to answer the original fund of one hundred thousand pounds per annum to the faid governor and company, and their fucceffors, fubject to fuch redemption as is provided for the fame by laws now in force; and the faid two feventh parts are liable to answer certain annuities for lives charged thereupon, and the faid five feventh parts, and two feventh parts have refpectively produced, and are like to produce yearly more than fufficient to answer the faid original fund, and all the annuities or payments by any act or acts of parliament charged thereupon refpectively; and the overplus monies laft mentioned are computable on the first day of June yearly; be it further enThe overplus acted by the authority aforefaid, That all the overplus monies of 5 & 6 W. of the faid five feventh parts, and two seventh parts, which up& M. c. 20. appropriated on any computation or computations to be duly made, after the for the ufes of faid twenty-ninth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand feven hundred and fifteen, shall from time to time, or at any time or times, appear to be or remain in the said receipt of Exchequer; that is to fay, of the faid five feventh parts (over and above so much as fhall be fufficient to discharge all the monies then incurred and grown due for or upon the faid original fund of one hundred thousand pounds per annum) and of the faid two seventh parts (over and above fo much as fhall be fufficient to discharge all monies then incurred and grown due for the said annuities or payments charged thereupon, or neceffary to be referved for that purpose) and all the monies which shall arise by the faid five seventh parts of the faid excife, after redemption of the faid original fund of one hundred thousand pounds per annum, in case it shall be redeemed before all the uses and purposes in

XIV.
