policy can be found in subdivision B. Much continues to be written on the general problem of Communism as a challenge to religion, particularly on the matter of a dialogue between Communists and churchmen. Some of this material has been cited under subdivision C, "Communism as a Challenge to Religion."

By and large, the titles included in the bibliography under "Books and Pamphlets" have been drawn from the annual published catalogue of the Library of Congress. This publication is a cumulative list of works represented by the Library of Congress printed cards.

Finally, this is a selected bibliography, and thus represents only a segment of the vast literature on Communism. For further published materials on the subject, the researcher should consult the standard reference guides and bibliographies discussed in the first volume of the World Communism Bibliography published in 1964 and augmented by others cited in the present volume II.

Appended to this bibliography is a research guide entitled, "U.S. Foreign Policy and International Relations," which was prepared by Mrs. Patricia M. Tsuchitani of the Library Services Division, Congressional Research Service. Since Communism is a global problem bearing directly on the foreign policy concerns of the United States, this guide can be an additional aid to the researcher.

This bibliography was prepared by Dr. Arshag O. Sarkissian, Analyst in International Relations, Foreign Affairs Division, Congressional Research Service, Library of Congress, in collaboration with and under the direction and the editorship of Dr. Joseph G. Whelan, Specialist in Soviet and East European Affairs, Foreign Affairs Division, Congressional Research Service, Library of Congress. The index was prepared by Ms. Dagnija Sterste of the Foreign Affairs Division.
