1 Executive branch requested authorization and appropriation of funds for last quarter of fiscal year 1948 and all 4 quarters of fiscal year 1949. When Congress authorized and appropriated funds only for 1 year, through the 3d quarter of fiscal year 1949, it was necessary to include the 4th quarter request with the fiscal year 1950 presentation, and funds for this 4th quarter were actually appropriated on Oct. 6, 1949, after the close of fiscal year 1949.

Includes $500,000,000 contract authorization. Subsequent appropriations to liquidate contract authority are deleted to avoid duplication. See footnote 3.

Committee on Foreign Affairs but which was not included in original executive branch requests for

authorization from $600,000,000 to $525,000,000, a net reduction of $75,000,000. Of this amount, not
to exceed $100,000,000 was to be used for grants.

$685,000,000 for fiscal year 1967 and $750,000,000 each for fiscal years 1968 and 1969.
