Moved, "That, in the opinion of this House, the present system of Currency is danger-
ous to the commerce of the Country, and that some change is necessary to prevent
such extreme fluctuations in the discount rate as have been frequent since the passing
of the Bank Act of 1844, and that an humble Address be presented to Her Majesty,
praying that She will be pleased to issue a Royal Commission to inquire into the means
of remedy for the evils complained of,"-(Mr. Anderson)

words "a Select Committee be appointed to inquire into the operation of the Bank
