it was amazing

This book takes place right after Uglies ends. Tally has decided that she will give herself up to become a pretty so that David's mother can see if the cure works to remove the lesions.
After Tally becomes a pretty she is really enjoying life (having forgotten pretty much everything she knew before). She is looking forward to joining Shay's clique called the "Crims". So named because they still pull pranks like when they were uglies. During the party when she is going to be initiated an old friend from the smoke appears and tells her instructions of where the pills for the cure are hidden.
The next day Zane (the Crims leader) take Tally to the park alone where he explains what the city does to everyone with the lesions and how it makes everyone forget. Tally doesn't believe him at first but then remembers the night before and the pills. She and Zane find the two pills and decide to split them so they can each be cured. They start thinking clearer, though Zane starts getting terrible headaches, and soon they decide that they have to escape. They make an escape plan and they finally are able to escape to make their way to the "new smoke". And everything is going well until the unthinkable happens.

This book was just as exciting as the others in the series. I didn't it had the characteristics that some middle of the series books have. It definitely wasn't just a book to bridge the gap between the first and last books in a series. It was full of adventure and twists and turns. It was definitely worth the time to read.
