it was ok

My least favorite. Possibly because I listed to the book-on-tape version and found the narrator's voice somewhere between irksome and downright annoying. I was also less of a fan of the made up vocabulary. all the -la and -wa endings, and the "bubbliness" of everything. (So being bubbly is supposedly going to make you more "real", but if you're not bubbly, you're a bubblehead? Don't get it.) And then there are the cavemen. I really had to suspend my disbelief on that one, and just when it began to make sense, and could actually be a cool thing to explore a little more deeply, it gets dropped from the plot. Sure, it gets (briefly) picked up again in the next book, but never to a satisfactory degree. I continued on to the third book only because I don't like to leave things unfinished, not because I felt any great desire to continue the saga.
