Okay, so the story I was surprised to find interesting in Uglies completely disappointed me in this second installation. It would be too hard to write my review without giving away the story...but in general, I was bored throughout the book, reading on, hoping for a decent ending. (I wanted to see what happened to David.) There were a few redeeming passages toward the end, when Tally starts thinking about what makes her bubbly, what makes beauty, & so on. And then the so-called climax, which I found predictable. Borderline comic book. (If you like X-Men, Spiderman, & those things, you might like this one. But they aren't my thing.) When Tally makes her choice I cringed & when at last I put the book down I found myself left with nothing more than disappointment. I doubt I will read Specials, unless someone is out there to change my mind.
