The Maze Runner (The Maze Runner, #1)

I actually really liked this book. And it may be in the influence of thinking of Dylan O'brien's face the whole time while reading, and without shaming myself because Dylan portrayed Thomas in the movie, so it was perfectly fine to do. This plot is a typical dystopian novel that young audiences love because it's a very trendy genre. I personally like it because of how a group of people could personalize a square of land encased by stone walls, and the little society they created. Sure the whole escaping part is nice and fun to read, but it's so interesting how a group of teenage boys could create slang, jobs, and an overall community to survive. The way they created their own system is pretty cool and so I enjoyed more of the explaining of "The Glade" to Thomas compared to everything else. I just have appreciation for how a disorganized and disoriented pile of boys could make such a strong bond and community in a dire situation.
