it was amazing

What if one day you woke up in an unknown place that you cannot get out of, with no memories of your past? And you're expected to work and not worry about the fact that you don't know where you are? Would you just follow the rules or would you be different from the others and try to do something about it? This book is person vs fate because Thomas and the people from the Glade were there for a reason but they just didn't know why. I liked this book because even though the characters were in a confusing situations most of the time there was usually always some humor in it.

Thomas woke up in a place called the Glade, he no memory at all. There were other teenage boys who had been there when he woke up. He found out that they also didn't know why or how they got there but some had been there for a long time and the only thing they knew was that they were surrounded by a maze and there were Grievers out there which were dangerous. Weird things started happening when Thomas arrived, a dead griever was found, and a girl came out of the box which was the thing that took them to the Glade, and it was the first girl ever and she had a note saying that there was not going to be anymore people going to the Glade. Thomas wanted to become a runner, their job was to go in the maze and try to figure out how to get out of the Glade, but he needed to prove that he was good enough. Days later Thomas went in the maze because Minho (runner) and Alby (leader) were going to be trapped in there because the doors were closing already. They all were the first ones to ever survive a night in the maze, because of Thomas, so he became a runner. Mostly everybody from the Glade knew they had to get out of there, so they did and when they got out they discovered who put them there and why.

The character I liked the least was Gally,to me he was very annoying because he only cared about what he thought. He also wasn't a very understanding person which annoyed me even more. I was not satisfied when Chuck got killed by Gally because he seemed like a very important character in the book. Also, Chuck was always Thomas's friend even though nobody in the Glade talked to him and it seemed like Chuck was always in a good mood.

My favorite part of the book was when Minho shoved Gally's face because he deserved it. I understood why he did it but it was also not the smartest thing to do in my opinion because that just made Gally hate Minho, and Thomas even more.

I rated this book 5/5 because I usually don't read these kinds of books because I don't like them but I did like this one. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to read a book about people trying to survive in an unknown place. This book will make you happy, sad, and mad but it's still really good.
