Hmmmmmmm......Maze Runner.. What do I think of Maze Runner?..
I changed my mind constantly whilst reading it and still not completely sure what I think of it... although I am pretty certain I'm going to read Scorch Trials (Despite earlier scepticism! ).
So.. starting off.. things I didn't like... For one, it just screams Hunger Games, the only differentiate I can identify is that the main character is a boy... not a girl. Then really, I think the stories are very very similar (with Maze Runner being the weaker of the two). Bunch of teenagers stuck in a post apocalyptic hell where horrible manufactured monsters roam it is about survival of the fitness....About sums it up?..
I also DESPISED the writing - particularly the lingo - shuck klunk etc. So irritating! Also for a book that is quite long it seemed to all happen very quickly if you know what I mean.. Like Thomas just plopped into the Maze then all of a sudden he is heavily involved in all the drama... I think what I'm trying to say is I would have liked to see him settle down a bit and interact a bit more with all the characters... considering Chuck is his best friend I don't think you really hear much from him?
I will say the end is quite exciting and fast paced although I did see the big shocking moment coming a mile off!
