it was amazing

The author's purpose in writing this book is to entertain. After I started reading this book I was instantly hooked. The Maze Runner was an extremely intriguing thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning to the end, from Thomas, the main character, waking up in the metal box going into the glade, to the end which I will not spoil for all you readers that have not read this book yet. This book was climactic and very descriptive all throughout the story, which makes it a very enjoyable novel. I believe the author is trying to show struggle and doubt through the main character, Thomas, but also shows perseverance through him by giving him the trait of never giving up 'till he's got some answers.
indent: I believe the theme is memories. If you think about it, memories are a pretty big deal. If breath in our lungs lets us know we're alive, then memories let us know who is alive. They're kind of defining, right? Think about it this way: take those memories away, and what do you have left? What is life without the past? For our protagonists, mainly Thomas, memory is a source of neverending frustration and mystery. They can remember things like hamburgers and springtime, but they can't remember why they have those memories. In fact, all they can remember is their names, but not their last names. So how do they construct their sense of identity in a place with a faceless past?
indent: This book was written as a 3rd person narrative limited-omniscient. The story is being told how our protagonist, Thomas, is seeing it. But not by Thomas himself. The way they use this type of narration to tell the story is extremely affective in showing emotion among the boys and young men in the glade. This narrative is very descriptive in telling the story and does well at doing so.
indent: My opinion on this book is that it was a very interesting novel and I enjoyed it very much. It had much action, which I like very much in books that I read. This book also showed great friendship, mystery, and teamwork, along with conflict, all of these contrasting themes created a great novel which I enjoyed and couldnt keep my eyes off of.
