This book is about a boy named Thomas. This boy Thomas wakes up in a shaft he does not remember his identity or anything else besides his name. When the shaft lifts up he sees a group of teenage boys who have also lost their memory. He wakes up in a grass field called a glade. Newt and Alby are the two leaders of the Glade. In the Glade there is a giant Maze. Every night the Maze doors close. The Maze has Huge stone walls covered in ivy and in the Maze there are Grievers. Grievers are metal spiders with flesh designed by the organization Wicked. The Maze walls actually move every night. In the Glade everyone has a job the one Thomas wants to be is a Runner. A Runner has to run through the Maze collecting data on how the Maze moves and try to find a way out. Then a girl comes the first one ever. She has a note she was holding onto it said Everything Is Going To Change. When she gets there she is in a coma. When she wakes up from the coma she had talk to Thomas in her mind. Minho the Maze leader one day at night gets injured in the Maze with Alby. With the doors closing Thomas jumps in to help them no one has ever survived a night in the Maze. That night they find a empty space kind of thing there were no walls only emptiness. They try throwing rocks to see if it lead somewhere one time they threw the rock and it disappeared. In the morning they had to tell everyone. Thomas and the girl Teresa find a code for the maze every time maze changes it spells out a new letter. All of the Gladers decide that they were all going to go for the hole and try to get out. They find the hole and jump in only about 20 people survived. They enter all the words on a keyboard. A door opened up did they escape or just find another Maze?

I would recommend this book to everyone who like action books. I loved this book because it was sad, had action, and had a lot of suspense.
