I think this was a very suspenseful book that kept me on my toes throughout the entire book. I did not think I would like this book, but I ended up loving it! I know that you will most likely love it too!
Plot Summery:
Thomas was sent up in a box into an unknown world. His memory was wiped, and the first thing he saw were lots of boys surrounding him. Right from the beginning, he knew he was different. He also always knew that he wanted to be a runner. Even after surviving a night in the maze. He eventually became a runner and loved it. A few weeks later, a girl named Teresa came up and was in a coma. Thomas herd a strange voice in his head and thought he was crazy. When Teresa woke up, she told him she can talk to him with her mind. It was very strange but they kept it to themselves. Then more strange events kept happening. Thomas and Minho found the griever hole, and the box never returned with more supplies. The doors started not to close at night, and took one person every night. Finally Thomas and Minho figured out a code and gathered a large group to try to escape. Some people stayed back with Gally, but most wanted to fight and try to escape. Once they got there, there were a ton of grievers and most died. Thomas, Teresa, and Chuck, jumped in the griever hole and entered the code. The grievers shut down, and then they realized that almost everybody died. They then escaped, Chuck died, and Thomas was mortified. Then some people came and took them to a place they called safe. When they woke up, all of the people that helped them were dead. To be continued........
Audience Recommendations:
I would recommend this book for any boy or girl over the age of 10. Anyone under that age probably would have a difficult time understanding and reading it. If you do not like suspense and utopia books, I would suggest that you do not read this book. It is also the first book to a series, so if you don't like to read series I would advise you not to read this book.
