The Maze Runner by James Dashner is a action-packed ,science fiction story that takes place in a unknown location that has a maze surrounding it. Thomas wakes up one morning and realizes he’s not where he is suppose to be (he’s not home), he’s in a foreign place and he doesn’t have any memories of his life up to this point of time. Thomas doesn’t like this new place that he is suppose to call home. So, Thomas decides he’s going to find a way out of it and the maze. But the mazes change every day and there are these people called Gladers that attack anyone who comes into the maze or tries to attack them. Thomas comes up with all multiple plans to leave the maze, some of them aren’t so good. I can understand the frustration that Thomas has from going to someplace he didn’t want to go to and not having any memories of his previous life. I would feel the same was as Thomas if I was in this very adventurous story. Dashner has Thomas and everyone and everything he encounters go on this crazy journey to solving the maze and perhaps figure it out. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys science fiction, really likes mazes and puzzles and the theme of not giving up on anything.

It's like his life is starting over. The setting is in an unknown place because it has not been mentioned yet to the reader. It affects the plot because this is where the story takes place and it will take place there for the whole book I assume."

With personal knowledge that usually means that he is in a new place and being in new places aren't always comfortable. It helps me in the story because it tells the reader that being comfortable in new places is not always true."

The what is being a maze runner and the why is because he wants to be one even though he doesn't know what that means exactly. I think the problem will be solved by having Thomas become a maze runner and he has to go on some journey and come out alive."

When Thomas starts saying a idea that sounds really good, something stops him from continuing that idea. If I was the author I would probably have the character continue his idea or thought completely, not stop the idea halfway for whatever reason."
