***SPOILER ALERT***What if you woke up knowing nothing but your name tons of guys look at you, after that you see that your in a glade surrounded by 4 walls. This book is very good and very suspenseful and adventurous. This book genre is post-apocalyptic, adventurous, and Si-Fi.
The glade is the place they lived for more that 2 years. When Thomas finds himself in the glade he feels like he was here before, one kid in particular thinks that hes seen him before. The other kids tell him the rules. The most important one is that you can't go into the maze i unless you are a runner, which Thomas is not, if you are a runner you have to get out of the maze at night because if you don't the doors close and you stuck in the maze with the grievers... The conflict is person vs society because Thomas and his new friends have to find a way out of this maze that the new society made as a test for the "good of the people." The theme of the book is manipulation because this society, the kill order is manipulating them to see what they do like the butterfly effect.
A major event that changed the main character (Thomas) is at the end of the book when the creators (the kill order) told one of the kids to kill Thomas's best friend. The first person P.O.V affected the story because of how Thomas look at things.
I was angry when Thomas best friend died because of how he died, if you wanna know read the book. I was moved by how much determination Thomas had to get out of the maze. My favorite part was when at the end of book when they got out of the maze because of how attached i was to all the characters.
I would give this book a 5 stars because of how the story was action pact and there were a lot of plot twist. I would recommend this book to people who like suspense to make you keep on reading, I also recommend it to people who like adventurous story's. If you do read this I hope you read the other books in the series.
