The Maze Runner (The Maze Runner, #1)

Not sure where to start with this one. A really cool read. Here's my ranking.
1 star The fast-paced, action-full, short chapters were awesome. It helped engage me as a reader and made it helpful not to forget where things left off.
2 stars Thomas was super realistic and I appreciated that. He had honest reactions (mostly) to some really confusing scenarios. However, Newt stole the show. Friggen loved that kid. Witty deadpan always trumps sarcastic stoic.
3 stars Dashner's descriptors were great. I felt I could really picture the world and the layout. And while there wasn't much time to get to know more than Chuck and the Keepers, I felt like Thomas and kinda sorta didn't care about them.
The book lost a star for the WHAM BAM ending and another for where I think the book is going. Not sure I like that potential path... But, a good solo read that, admittedly, leaves you wanting to know where it leads.
