This is one of the few times when I really like the movie better than the book! I love the concept but I felt the writing was really lacking. I know this is a kids book- but the character of Thomas is he is written in the book was very annoying to me! He would have inconsistent thoughts, I thought the writing and parts of the story were very sloppy. I didn't like how Thomas always had big reactions to things (like standing up quickly, falling down, wanting to punch someone, etc).

I really enjoyed the movie and I think they made appropriate changes to the storyline and to the characters (making Chuck and Alby more likeable and Thomas not as wimpy!)
