"Diary of a Wimpy Kid" is a story about a boy in middle school named Greg. Greg's mother got him a book that said "my diary" on it. She wanted him to write how he felt but he said, "Forget that" because he didn't want people to make fun of him in school. He thought about it and decided he could make a life story about himself and maybe be famous one day. Greg and his best friend, Rowley, don't really fit in with the rest of the kids in middle school and are trying to move up in popularity. The main character is Greg. He is a short, skinny kid and has a good sense of friendship, and comedy. He has a brother named Rodrick. He's in a band and makes fun of him constantly. They don't really get along well. His mom and dad are basically the same--boring, with no taste in anything. Manney is Greg's little brother who gets what he wants no matter what and is super spoiled. Rowley is Greg's best friend and they do everything together. Rowley's parents are the kind of parents who are overprotective.

I recommend this book to readers who like a good comedy. This would be a good book for middle school-aged readers, male or female.
