Diary of a Wimpy Kid (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, #1)

Diary of the Wimpy Kid is the diary of Greg Heffley, the main character and his experience of life in middle school. It documents the events of his school year and his attempt to improve his school image by becoming class treasurer, a cartoonist for the school paper, a safety patrol member, as well as failed attempts of setting up a haunted house and trying to build the world’s biggest snowman to get in the Guinness book of records. These events create an humourous element to the book along with the cartoons. I was drawn to this book due to its large popularity. I would recommend this book for upper key stage 2, 9-11 year olds. The book allows themes to be drawn upon and to be discussed such as bullying and friendship
