The Diary of a Wimpy Kid is about how a boy named Greg has hard times while being in middle school and has to work through it. In order to try to get through his struggles, he writes everything that has happened to him in his personal diary. Greg devises plans that he thinks will work but end up not working and sometimes make his life even more miserable. This book is good for contemporary fiction because it is narrated in first person by a middle schooler and shows some of the everyday things that kids who are in middle school themselves go through so that it is easy for students to relate to.
