I can see some of the reasons many children would like this series. Some children and YA books hold appeal for all ages, and this does not seem to be one of those. I would still reccommend to give to children who like funny stuff to read or are reticent readers, but don't expect it's going to be a read you will want read with them. (Harry Potter it is not.) But kids might get kick out of Greg's attitude, antics, and when things backfire on him. Just hope he doesn't seem to be a role model or anything. I was surprised how unpleasant the main character was. I thought he was going to be more sympathetic with a title like that.
