Okay, so yeah, there were parts of this book that were funny, but as a mom of 3 boys, I can say that I'm not exactly thrilled with them reading this. I just felt that the main character was a weasily little punk. He had very few redeeming qualities; he disrespected his parents, brothers, friends, teachers, and classmates. I just couldn't get behind him being the underdog when he was so unlikable. And as a main character, he remained static through the entire book. Let us at least see some growth, maturity, something. I don't think you need to sacrifice humor to put in a positive message.
