it was ok

I was so disappointed by this book.

I know I'm not exactly its target audience, but I enjoy middle-grade fiction on occasion.

I really liked the format (it reminded me of one of my personal favorites growing up, Amelia's Notebook) and I actually laughed out loud at some parts.

But I just kept thinking that Greg is a jerk! He picks on his best (and really only friend) and is constantly trying to get out of trouble by blaming it on other people! This is a series, so maybe that will change. And okay, kids aren't perfect. I just don't think it's okay to laugh at your friend when you throw a ball at him intending to make him fall off of a Big Wheel and he BREAKS HIS HAND.

I feel like such an old fart complaining about this, but I was just bummed that Greg was self-centered.

I picked this up because it (and its sequels) are always checked out at the library and I wanted to see what kids are enjoying. I'm using it as part of he Book Riot Read Harder Challenge - Read a middle-grade novel!
