As much as I love this series, this book only gets 3 stars, and probably unfairly so, because the book is well-written. The problem with this book, and the reason that I wish it didn't exist, is the introduction of the Time-Turner, a device used to, you guessed it, turn back time.

A couple of issues:
1. This isn't a rare item. They give it to a girl so she can take more classes in a given semester. Obviously it's not that uncommon.
2. It doesn't show up at all in the rest of the books, even though it would obviously come in handy quite a bit. This one bothers me most because most plot-important items/people show up again throughout the series. Because of this, I kept assuming that certain events in he consecutive books were foreshadowing the return of the Time-Turner.
3. It creates a giant plot hole in an otherwise meticulously thought out plot.

Overall, this series is amazing, and this book is very good, but this single issue makes me hate this book. For those reading this series, my best advice is to forget about the Time-Turner completely after this book. Wipe it from your memory and don't let it taint the magic of the rest of the story.
