Maze-
I think that there is something in all of us excited by the challenge of a maze, but I also think that we are all troubled by them. It may be because we have a case of "crossword with a pen" syndrome where we don't want to go back over the lines that we've already made. Or, it may be a real-life fear of being caught in a hedge maze without a way out. This idea plays to that desire; at least, it did for me.
Memory Loss:
You'll see why I disliked the same point below, but I really liked having each character (or most...) start out on a level playing field. They find themselves in a situation where they must begin life again, not knowing who they are, where they come from, or how they have any knowledge/skill set at all.
Epilogue:
That is how you write an epilogue! Tell us everything and NOTHING!
Ages:
Keeping in mind that this is a YA novel, I liked the age range of the characters. Just enough innocence and just enough morality to make the hard decision and to make them in an interesting way.
Runners:
Interesting how skill/intelligence/agility are rewarded with danger/stress/separation.

Dislikes:
Thomas:
For once I'd like to read a hero/heroine who is just an average joe. Or, in this case, a "glader" watching from the outside. Telepathic ability? More
