I am just having the shittiest luck with books right now.
I am also too disappointed to write a real rant about how I feel right now but for the most part I found the book hard to enjoy.
The characters piss me off, whats his face is an ass, the girls basically a half dead plot device and the others aren't far off.
I want to like Newt because he seems like a nice guy but his character is beyond underdeveloped and hes kind of useless as off right now.

I had more of a problem with the story itself, shocking I know, because even I can tell this is meant to be a story driven by it's plot.
While the initial mystery of the Maze,Gladers yadyada had me intrigued, I quickly lost interest when I realized there wasn't that much to solve. The whole book is centered around 'getting out' and not so much about anything else. (view spoiler)
And everything that could help achieve that goal is credited to Thomas.every.fucking.time.
When the plot started to get repetitive or boring golden boy would 'remember something' or (view spoiler) maybe he'd ask another question, either way the pacing threw me off with its mechanical rise and fall of events, and again the story itself felt lacking.

I don't see myself following the rest of the books, I'm sure (view spoiler) it'll work out for them.
