it was ok

- Interesting concept, boring execution.
- Predictable and formulaic.
- Each chapter ended on a predictable cliffhanger that was designed to keep you turning the page. While I understand this is the purpose of ending a chapter, as you need to keep your reader turning the pages, it pulled me out of the story because the endings were so cookie cutter formula. Chapter endings didn't feel natural.
- Of course Thomas is special, and so is Teresa. Wish we got to spend time with other Gladers instead. Minho, Newt, Chuck, Gally, and Alby could've been stronger and more interesting if given more time to shine. Teresa should've been given more time to become layered. Too one dimensional.
- Honestly too difficult to root for Thomas.
- Telepathy was boring and contrived.
- WICKED people's dialogue was predictable and boring. Very bland and one dimensional.
- Interested in this post-apocalyptic world but it took too long to get there and lost me as a reader.
- Why was the Glade populated with boys? I'm sure this will be answered in the next book.
- Why did it take until Thomas came for the boys to figure anything out? Sure this is answered later.
- Won't be continuing the series.
