Loading... Mr. Putter & Tabby Walk the Dog (edition 1994)by Cynthia Rylant (Author), Arthur Howard (Illustrator)“Mr. Putter & Tabby Walk the Dog” is by Cynthia Rylant. Mrs. Teaberry broke her foot and Mr. Putter said, “I can take care of your dog”, but there was a problem – Zeke the dog was a nightmare. I like this book because it is really silly. My favorite character is Tabby because Tabby is cute. I feel like students in 1st grade would like this book. I give this book four out of five stars! - Philip Kim, Tulip Class, February 2018 Mr. Putter and his lovely neighbor Mrs. Teaberry are close friends who share kiwis and eggplant. When Mrs. Teaberry hurts her foot and is bedridden, she asks Mr. Putter to walk her dream dog, Zeke. Mr. Putter, joined by his devoted cat Tabby, finds that Zeke is more of a nightmare than a dream. Zeke chases dogs through strange houses, wraps Mr. Putter and Tabby around trees and tugs through creeks and yards. Mr. Putter devises a plan to change Zeke's behavior and make him more co-operative.
