The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment

I've never read a spiritual book prior to this. This is my first pick in this genre.I must say I really liked it.This book does not teach anything that we don't know, even the author mentions this in the preface. What makes this an interesting read is the way the author explains how much we complicate life by choosing to be in the past or future and never in the present moment. He explains the past as just a memory trace and the future as anticipation for fulfillment. It is all about being utterly present in the 'Now'and start living without waiting to start life. However, I must also admit that it also contains a lot of spiritual concepts, like the pain-body,energy field and the like; but I chose to ignore them as I do not want to take to serious spiritualism.Ignoring the core spiritual concepts, this book would still make a strong case as a practical approach to life by being utterly conscious in the present. This book would force you to ask yourselves this question, whenever you drift away from the present.
