bookshelves: read-in-english, waste-of-time, i-hate-these, overrated

I had been suggested to read this book so many times that I finally caved in today and read it. Actually, I skipped the last chapter altogether because I was fed up with Tolle already. Can I suggest Goodreads to allow for 0 star ratings for books that are trash-worthy? Because this is one of them.

Basically we have here:

1) Zen teachings
2) Misunderstanding of Buddha (he didn't assert "no-self" as in "there is no self" but as there is no "permanent self")
3) Quotes from Jesus because everybody loves him
4) Quotes from Jung and Freud to make the book look as "scientific". As far as psychology can be which is little, to be frank
5) Touching briefly Einstein's space/time conundrum just to say "hey, I'm clever, I've even explained Einstein!"
6) A whole lot of practical issues that readers can identify with (menstrual cycle, relationship, bad colleagues and so on) so the author can't be accused of being too theoretical

Pack the whole of it in a simple format of question/answer so to be the as comprehensible as possible and you have The Power Of Now.

Nobody who ever read any real buddhistic texts could be swayed by the argumentations of Tolle. Nor like this book. If you do, you must have misunderstood those texts and I urge you to read those again or more of them instead than authors like Tolle that tries to make them more understandable to the Western public (and making a lot of money along the way...). Garbage.
