While I believe what Tolle was trying to teach in this book is worthy and spiritually deep, I just don't think there is any way to teach it with words. Mysticism is experiential and all words fail the experience. On the other hand, I struggle with the idea that deep thinking is in opposition to spiritual experience. Some of the most painful (self-imposed or not) experiences bring us closer to the Divine and help us see the world in different and new ways. I'm not sure that's an experience any should deny. Without darkness how can we know light?
