I gave this book one star only because no stars makes it look like I forgot to rate it.

While clearly some people love Eckhart Tolle, I'm afraid he doesn't do it for me. I'm too much of an empiricist and a pragmatist to buy into Tolle's spirituality: his explanations for things are just too New Age for me -- based on his intuitions and opinions and personal spiritual experiences, that don't necessarily mesh with what we know, scientifically, about the brain and the body.

I'm sure he does have some worthwhile things to say about stepping out of the cycle of our thought processes, and of living in the present, etc. But not expressed or explored in any way that I can tolerate reading. He's not the teacher for me.
