Holy. Flippin. Shit.

I remember reading about Eckhart Tolle in The Antidote, by Oliver Burkeman (another philosophical book I immensely enjoyed). Burkeman said something about how Tolle had spent a non-trivial time living on a park bench having no money, but still remaining perfectly happy. In fact, as I've learned now, he wasn't really happy in the sense of the word as we think of it, but he was peaceful.

At the time I thought that he sounded like some insane new-age hippie, and that I'd be best if I just let him quietly pass by. Man am I glad I decided to check his book out anyway.

I think you have to have the right mindset for this book to resonate with you, but if you do then holy shit are you in for a treat. This is by far the most important book I've ever read, and I urge literally everyone to read it.

Seriously, stop reading this and start reading The Power of Now instead.

PS: I listened to this on Audible, and Tolle himself narrates the book and answers the questions posted within. If you have an Audible account, I'd highly suggest listening to this as an audio book. Tolle's voice is also hilarious (in a good way) to listen to.
