Spiritual and rational at the same time, if such a thing is possible. Presence does seem to be something that is real, based on personal experience and Tolle puts such experience into words in a rather poignant fashion.

This is the type of book that can change your life and open new perspectives, but requires consistent high effort which I doubt most readers are able to exert. I'm not sure if I can, probably not to the most enlightened degree. Nevertheless, "presence" is definitely a concept I'm glad to have been exposed to and will be useful to regulate my emotional and spiritual health.
