Amazing book!! I've read Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind as well as Meditation: Waking Up to Life, and Search Inside Yourself - all books in the same vein about finding your zen. Compared to those, this book is much more relatable and does a better job of explaining the rationale behind meditation and enlightenment. He explains seemingly contradictory ideas in layman's terms that are very understandable. He also relates sayings from Buddhism, Confucianism, and Christianity, which was very unique. Wish I had read this when it was first published in 1997.
