My mind is fighting my being as we speak. Definitely an interesting read and places a new perspective on various religions and their distracted views by followers. The "God as a mental idol" was very in line with my thinking. I would love to say after reading this book once that I was capable of giving up past and future and living in the present/with presence but it will take plenty of devotion, and self-discipline to stay focused on the now. If you have encountered Yoga, Buddhism, and are not an entrenched Christian then this book is a nice addendum to your knowledge base (even if you are an entrenched Christian). I will attempt to incorporate the methods and lessons in my daily life starting NOW. Gaining control over mind and staying present, ignoring the meaningless meanderings of past/future is not going to be an easy task. But I don't think I have a choice as I just caught my mind taking over again. Definitely a book that furthers proper meditation. Peace is the only desire.
