Overall I liked the book. There are only a few parts of the book that I honestly have to disagree with for now partly may be my misinterpretation of his messaging regarding “turning the other cheek”. What I really appreciated about this book is the teachings of being present and how to do that, which he gives a few how-to steps to do that. The “turn the other cheek” and avoiding “resistance” is what I don’t fully agree with right now. For centuries, spirituality on all levels and these concepts have been used to suppress large number of people by the elite hierarchy. This book also had a tendency to convey the message that what is most important is the individual and individual’s response to the external surrounding, which can be true at times, but I believe we should be careful of that because it wreaks individualism, which counters being fully present. I can write an essay on my thoughts of this but in short, this is my review for this book.
