The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment

So first the good stuff: there are some very interesting ideas in here that were completely new to me. His points about our obsession with thinking (to our detriment) are very interesting and, I think, valid.
Now for the bad: This entire book could easily be condensed into a 20 page (at most!) pamphlet. He rambles on and on about what is basically the same idea. He also distorts quotes and teachings of great religious leaders to fit his point of view. Finally, he describes scientific phenomena without any evidence whatsoever. The result is an extremely poorly-delivered work containing some very good ideas. His attempts to write something that sells are very transparent and as a result, insulting.
I would actually recommend borrowing this book to read the first chapter or two. As mentioned, the underlying ideas are very insightful.
