it was ok

I got this book thinking it would be something like ZenHabits.net, but boy was I wrong (and I should have known that, had I given thought to the subheading and/or read the summary, which I didn't, so that's entirely my fault).

There's a lot of BS in the book (if you're not religious or spiritual, like me, anyways), but even so, I think it was interesting and the takeaway points are good lessons:
- Stay in the present moment, in the now, because that's all there is.
- Don't let your past or projection of the future affect your present.
- Don't like your emotions and instinctive or involuntary reactions dictate your actions or distract/remove you from the present moment.
And probably some other things I already forgot.

(The thing that bothered me most was when he brought up negativity in animals. Anyone who thinks that animals don't experience negativity does not understand them. I'm not sure about all species, but I know that mammals most certainly do experience negative things. For instance, many animals, such as elephants and orcas, grieve for the deaths of their family members, and I'm certain plenty of animals, wild and domesticated, get depressed. Any emotion that humans experience, animals do too, but possibly not to the length or extent that humans do because it would be a waste of their time and valuable, limited energy. We can afford to waste it - they can't because their survive is at stake. I know there's no reason to rant about this, but I did it anyways. P.S. I'm not being negative about this, but I wanted to explain that the information he presented there is false.)
