The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment

I scanned through the first 68 pages of the book and couldn't face wasting more of "the now" on rolling my eyes.
I started the book sceptically, but worked hard on keeping an open mind. That didn't last long...
Though I agree with many of the concepts of the book (having some knowledge of them beforehand), I found Tolle's treatment of them rather off hand and disrespectful at times. There are many other texts that can give you the same message in a much better way - don't waste your time on this book.
What I'm taking away from my brief and, I admit, rather biased reading of the first few chapters, is that Tolle would like us all to live selfishly, with no regard for how our actions have impacted those in the past or will impact those in the future - positively or negatively.
I am, in a word, unimpressed.
