This is one of the most - if not the most - important books I've ever read.
Tolle explains how the mind tells you all kinds of stories, and that they are just that - stories. Believing in these stories and identifying with them (identifictaion with the mind) leads to not being able to live in the present, which essentially is all there is. So by being trapped in the past or the future you deny yourself what really only ever is - the present moment.
