This book was amazing. Yes, it's one of the ever-present distopian society books, but I really like it, even if it's becoming overdone. The clever thing about this book, is that the writer creates the story in a way that makes the idea of five different factions in which you can only really express one part of yourself, it makes it easy to relate to the divergent people, because that's the way that people in our society actually think, creating connections with the main character. A divergent thinks the same way that we do, though it also makes complete sense that that isn't normal for their society. Because of this, I love the main character, Beatrice/Tris, and I relate to her, even with her increasing lack of compassion.
This is the first book that I just flew through in forever. I got through it only a few days, but the book completely stuck in my head, and I immediately went out and bought Insurgent. Can't wait to read that one!
