The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment

OK, first of all: I'm a very new-agey, spiritual person who's usually into this kinda stuff. But this book, ugh....
It had it's good bits. I totally agree with the importance of living in the now, and especially loved the bits about universal love for everybody and everything. But there was quite a lot of stuff that didn't resonate with me at all. Mostly, it was Eckhart's know-it-all style. OK, he probably didn't mean to sound like that, but sadly, he did. Also, he condemned things I see as genuinely important, and also, his heteronormative and slightly sexist assumptions were annoying.
This book makes good points and is a pretty interesting read, but to be honest, I can't really see how it can help that many people to feel better. (Most likely it makes more people anxious.)
